The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET-2026) will be conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission on July 2, 3 and 4, 2026, with a total of five examination shifts across 955 centres in 60 districts. The commission says 19,94,661 candidates are registered, including 17,67,180 from within Uttar Pradesh and 2,27,481 from other states. For schedule details, the upper primary level (Classes 6–8) appears on both shifts of July 2 and on the first shift of July 3, while the primary level (Classes 1–5) appears in the second shift of July 3 and the first shift of July 4.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviews preparations and orders officials to ensure the exam’s fairness, transparency and credibility are not compromised. He directs district administrations to provide a safe and stress-free environment, including drinking water, clean toilets, shaded waiting areas, uninterrupted power supply, fire safety and emergency medical facilities. He also calls for tight monitoring of rumours and misinformation and prompt action if required. The commission states that AI-enabled CCTV coverage is installed at centres and connected to district control rooms and an integrated command room, with connectivity checks conducted. Districts deploy police and appoint retired IAS and IPS observers to oversee arrangements, while prohibitory orders remain near exam centres.
