The cut is described as the first reduction in commercial cylinder rates this year after earlier price increases linked to global supply pressures. For example, the Delhi commercial 19-kg cylinder is priced at ₹2,930, down from ₹3,113.50 in June. City-wise pricing mentioned across outlets also shows decreases in places including Kolkata, Chandigarh, Lucknow, Patna, Mumbai and Chennai, with specific amounts varying by city.
Household LPG rates for the 14.2-kg cylinder are reported to remain unchanged for July. Several reports include ongoing domestic prices for cities such as Delhi (₹942), Mumbai (₹941.50), Kolkata (₹968) and Chennai (₹957.50).
One explanation offered by outlets for the timing of the reduction is a fall in international crude oil prices after easing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, alongside reduced concerns about shipping and supply disruptions. Some reports also mention an additional cut for 5 kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) in certain markets.
