The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) urges President Bola Tinubu to order an investigation into allegations that ₦26.9 billion linked to Nigeria’s Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF) has been missing or diverted. According to reports drawing on an Auditor-General’s findings, SERAP says the issue reflects corruption and mismanagement and represents a breach of public trust.
SERAP calls on the federal government to direct relevant officials to account for the funds and explain their whereabouts. Vanguard and The Punch report that SERAP specifically asks Tinubu to direct the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, and the Secretary of the USPF, Yomi Arowosafe, to provide an account of the alleged missing amounts.
