The Indian Embassy in Bangkok issues a fresh advisory for Indian nationals travelling to Thailand, outlining document checks and entry requirements. Travellers are advised to carry a passport valid for at least six months from the date of arrival, along with confirmed return tickets, hotel bookings, and a clear travel itinerary. The advisory also requires completion of the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) through Thailand’s immigration portal within 72 hours before arrival. Completing the online form generates a QR code that may be shown during immigration checks.
The embassy further highlights that travellers using visa-exempt entry or visas on arrival should carry at least 20,000 Thai baht in cash per passenger as proof of sufficient funds, and may be asked to present evidence during entry. The advisory also stresses obtaining the correct visa based on the purpose of travel and warns against using visa-exempt or visa-on-arrival status for employment. For transit passengers, it advises carrying relevant documents for onward travel and any visas required by their final destination. Overall, the embassy urges travellers to verify requirements before departure and keep documents accessible during immigration processing.
