President Bola Ahmed Tinubu says the Federal Government is implementing 61 road projects across Nigeria’s North Central region. He makes the disclosure during the inauguration of the rehabilitation of the Babban-Lamba-Sharam Phase II Road in Kanke Local Government Area of Plateau State. Tinubu is represented at the event by the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda. According to Tinubu, the 61 projects span the six states in the North Central zone and include roads at different stages of delivery. He says five road projects have already been completed, while 25 major road projects and 31 emergency road projects are ongoing. He frames the programme as part of a wider federal connectivity drive intended to link Nigeria’s geopolitical zones, citing “four major legacy projects” of his administration. The reports also note that the Minister of Works, David Umahi, links the initiative to the administration’s wider infrastructure push and expresses confidence in the APC’s prospects in Plateau and the broader region. Tinubu also comments on broader economic reforms, including improvements in GDP and foreign reserves.
