Assam’s GST collection grows 15% in June compared with the same month last year, Finance Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah said on Saturday. GST revenue for June stands at Rs 1,437 crore, up from Rs 1,255 crore in June 2025. Baruah said the June growth rate is higher than the national average of 9%, placing Assam among the top performing major states. He attributed the increase to efforts aimed at improving tax compliance, plugging revenue leakages, strengthening digital tax administration and widening the tax base.
The state also reports higher GST receipts in the first quarter. From April to June, Assam collects Rs 4,467 crore, compared with Rs 3,026 crore in the corresponding period of 2025. One report notes that Assam’s performance outpaces that of several larger states, including Maharashtra, Karnataka, Delhi, Haryana and West Bengal.
Overall, both outlets describe the June figures as part of an improving trend in monthly GST growth and revenue administration in Assam.
