The Railways move to restore service, with the Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw overseeing restoration and Western and Central Railways coordinating on the response.
As a result of the disruption, several trains are cancelled and others are diverted. One report states that 16 trains are cancelled and nine long-distance services are diverted, while passengers are advised to check updated train status because restoration work continues.
