Ondas Inc., a company that develops drones and wireless communications technology, has agreed to acquire autonomous aircraft maker DZYNE Technologies in a cash-and-stock transaction valued at about $875.8 million (reported as over $875 million across outlets). The deal would consolidate Ondas’ capabilities and position the company as a “full-service” autonomous defense technology platform, expanding its offerings beyond drones into autonomous aircraft.
Breaking Defense reports that Ondas has been on an acquisition spree, buying eight companies over the past two years. Following the DZYNE deal, company executives say they plan to focus on integrating the portfolio of systems “from surface to stratosphere.” As part of that effort, they plan to develop a new AI command system in partnership with Palantir, according to the outlet.
Bloomberg similarly describes the acquisition as part of Ondas’ shift toward broader autonomous defense capabilities. Bloomberg also notes the structure of the transaction and the scale of the purchase, while providing context on Ondas’ role in drones and communications. The company’s next steps center on integration of the acquired technology and development of new AI command capabilities.
