Amitabh Bachchan is reported to have made a late-night call—around 3 a.m.—to Abhinandan Lodha, founder and chairman of real estate firm The House of Abhinandan Lodha, to inquire about buying land in Ayodhya. According to Lodha’s account carried by multiple outlets, Bachchan asked about the availability and price of the plot and indicated he was from Uttar Pradesh. After learning the quoted price, Lodha says Bachchan transfers Rs 15 crore the following day, completing the deal.

The reports also situate the transaction within Bachchan’s ongoing real estate activity in Ayodhya. One outlet notes that he has been steadily expanding his portfolio in the city over recent years. In addition, NDTV reports that in March 2026 Bachchan buys another 2.67-acre Ayodhya plot for Rs 35 crore, described as his third investment in Ayodhya, further linking the late-night call account to a broader pattern of purchases. All details are attributed to Lodha’s recollection as reported by the outlets.
