Banijay Entertainment and All3Media have completed their $8 billion merger, creating a large independent production and distribution company. The deal combines Banijay’s and All3Media’s content assets and, after the relevant European regulatory process concludes, is formally closed. The merged company operates under the name Banijay Entertainment and is headquartered in London, even though Banijay’s roots are described as being in Paris. Multiple outlets report that the new entity is publicly traded and brought together leadership including Jeff Zucker and Marco Bassetti, with Bassetti serving as CEO and Zucker as chairman of the board.
The combined business is described as having a substantial catalogue and scale, with one report citing a 265,000-hour library. Sources also highlight that the merger consolidates production formats and programmes associated with the two groups, including titles and franchises such as The Traitors, Big Brother, MasterChef, and Peaky Blinders. The completion of the merger is also presented as part of broader restructuring in the television market, with outlets noting it follows other major UK pay-TV and media transactions.
