Police are investigating a double stabbing in Hayes, west London, in which a 24-year-old woman dies and a man is taken to hospital with stab injuries. Emergency services are called to reports of the incident at around 7.55am, with the woman pronounced dead at the scene on Uxbridge Road. Officers also find a man in his twenties outside the area with stab wounds and take him for medical treatment. He has injuries believed to have been caused after he jumps from a window, and he is taken to hospital. The 44-year-old man is arrested on suspicion of murder and possession of a knife in a public place. Detectives say there is not thought to be any wider threat to the public, but residents can expect increased police presence in the area in the coming days. The victims’ families are supported by specialist officers as inquiries continue.
