The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) says it expresses “grief” over alleged irregularities in the counting of donation box offerings at the Shri Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The RSS statement comes after an FIR was registered following revelations of alleged donation embezzlement, and it says it is confident that police action and an ongoing Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe—set up on the Uttar Pradesh government’s directions—will reach a “decisive turn.” The RSS says the matter was discussed during the concluding day of its three-day Akhil Bharatiya Prant Pracharak Baithak in Belagavi, where members also expressed concern that such incidents could hurt the reverence and faith of Ram devotees. The RSS further said it expects the Teerth Kshetra Nyas to prevent recurrence.

Reporting also links the case to a preliminary SIT report and subsequent police investigation. It adds that arrests have been made in connection with the donation collection and counting process.

Separate from the case, the RSS meeting reviews training conducted after March 2026, ongoing centenary-year activities, and plans to strengthen shakhas and increase engagement through social work initiatives. The agenda also includes discussions on the census, population imbalance, and drug abuse de-addiction efforts.
