Apple TV subscribers get access to a new set of classic movies at no added charge as Apple expands its streaming library. Multiple outlets report that the movies are added to the regular Apple TV catalog for people who already have an Apple TV subscription.
The updates are presented as part of Apple TV’s ongoing push for originals and exclusive programming, while the classic-film additions appear alongside that broader strategy. Sources say it is not clear whether the promotion is permanent or limited in time, noting that Apple has previously made film selections free for subscribers during earlier periods, including during COVID, and has also added large batches of movies in 2024 under similar terms.
Apple is reportedly not strongly marketing the change beyond the Apple TV service itself. AppleInsider adds that subscribers can find the titles under a section labeled “Great Movies Available Now on Apple TV,” while other outlets similarly describe the availability as “free” with a subscription and suggest the selection may be temporary since Apple has not confirmed duration publicly.
