It is positioned as a logistics and industrial corridor linking western and eastern Uttar Pradesh.
Business Standard reports that the project is projected to deliver annual logistics savings of up to ₹30,000 crore, largely by streamlining movement of goods. It also cites state-level freight volume estimates, saying Uttar Pradesh handles about 245–260 million tonnes of intra-state freight annually and about 135–150 million tonnes of outbound freight, with key categories including food grains, construction materials, and retail goods inward, and sectors such as electronics, leather, and agricultural produce outward.
