The Osun State Police Command says it has arrested six suspected cultists during intelligence-led raids on criminal hideouts in Osogbo, the state capital. Police spokesperson DSP Abiodun Ojelabi says the arrests follow operations aimed at disrupting cult-related violence and other criminal activities in the area.

According to the reports, the suspects are alleged to be members of the Eiye Confraternity. Police also say they recovered items believed to include criminal charms, illicit drugs, and cash during the raids. One outlet adds that the arrests are linked to a gang accused of terrorising residents around the Mackay area.

The outlets broadly describe the same police action, citing the same spokesperson and timeframe. They differ slightly in emphasis, with coverage focusing either on the cult affiliation and hideouts, or on the operation’s targets such as drug offences and “black spots” across Osogbo.
