Pune Municipal Corporation officials conduct joint and separate inspections to address monsoon-related problems and disruptions linked to ongoing Pune Metro works. On the Baner-University Road stretch between Hotel Green Park and University Chowk, Additional Municipal Commissioner (Special) Omprakash Divte reviews road and Metro activity with PMRDA and Pune IT City Metro Rail Limited, along with other departments. Divte highlights recurring waterlogging at University Chowk and near Hotel Mahabaleshwar during heavy rains and directs PMRDA and Metro authorities to complete drainage improvement works within four days. The review also covers issues such as construction debris near Metro works opposite Sindh Society and National Society, misaligned or uneven road dividers, damaged footpaths beneath Metro stations, reduced road width, and a blocked stormwater drain near the IISER campus. Metro-linked inconvenience is to be reduced through priority resolution of these concerns, along with immediate cleaning of stormwater drains and chambers by the Drainage Department and ward offices.
In a separate exercise ahead of the monsoon, Additional Municipal Commissioner Prajit Nair inspects drainage and stormwater management work under the Nagar Road–Wagholi Regional Office, including drain and pipeline cleaning at locations such as Alandi Road, Tingre Nagar Road, Airport Road, Kalwad Vasti, and Phulmala in Wagholi. Officials focus on readiness to handle heavy rainfall and prevent waterlogging by ensuring timely, quality completion of ongoing work.
