President Bola Tinubu approves 27 road projects valued at over N3.9 trillion across 15 states, according to reports by multiple Nigerian outlets. Minister of Works David Umahi makes the disclosure on Monday while briefing journalists in Abuja after the Federal Executive Council meeting.

The approved projects span states including Adamawa, Benue, Cross River, Ebonyi, Ekiti, Kogi, Kwara, Lagos, Niger, Ondo, Osun, Oyo, Plateau, Taraba and Yobe. The plans include a mix of dualisation, reconstruction, rehabilitation and new construction, as well as flyovers and bridges in some locations.

Among the specific project items cited is the re-award of a 409-kilometre dual carriageway in Niger State to Aliko Dangote under the tax credit scheme, valued at about N1.8 trillion. Other highlighted approvals include N276 billion for dualisation of the Ilorin–Ogbomoso Road, N265 billion for reconstruction of the Iseyin–Eruwa–Agbesi Road, and N217 billion for dualisation of the old Ijaye–Ilorin alignment.

Reports also note Umahi’s mention of the completion of the first 118-kilometre section of the Abuja–Kaduna–Kano Highway and the approval of a business case for the operation and maintenance concession of the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway.
