A building collapse at the Moshi garbage depot near Pune is reported to have killed eight people, with one person still missing. The incident occurs on Wednesday at about 1:30 pm when a large heap of garbage collapses onto an administrative building within the Moshi waste processing area operated by the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation.

Authorities say that among the estimated people trapped inside, 14 are rescued. A senior official states that the overall number of persons believed to be stuck is around 23, meaning additional occupants are either accounted for or remain untraced as rescue efforts continue. The missing person is reported to be still in the debris, while recovery operations proceed at the site.

Emergency response includes clearing and search-and-rescue activities around the collapsed structure and the area where the garbage heap falls, as officials work to confirm the final casualty and survivor counts.
